What to have ready when you call
- Your USDOT number — the entity that actually operates interstate
- Your commercial motor vehicle count, including units leased over 30 days
- Your business type: carrier, broker, freight forwarder, leasing company, or a combination
- Which registration years you think are outstanding, if you know
If you don't have all of it, call anyway. Sorting out which USDOT number applies is a common reason people phone in the first place.
